MuleSoft Meetup in Malta: Modern API’s and their role in the integration of enterprise systems

Posted on: May 30, 2019

May 23rd, 2019, MuleSoft meetup in Valletta, Malta

Not a lot of people know, that Malta was the birthplace of Mule integration technology developed by Ross Mason back in the early 2000s that grew into a San Fransisco based unicorn company MuleSoft, acquired by Salesforce last year for a staggering $6.5 billion.

This was the first official MuleSoft meetup in Malta devised to contribute to the local tech community. We were discussing different technologies and approaches to software integration, including P2P, ESB and API-led approach.

The meetup was led by Justin, an Integration Architect, and Ingram, an Integration Consultant from Ricston, one of the first MuleSoft partners, who explained the concept behind modern API-s and why they are to be treated as digital assets when it comes to software integration. We were exploring The MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform and it’s methodology around API-led connectivity and middleware.

Luke Ambrogio, Solutions Architect @ Air Malta, joined us to tell the Digital Transformation story of Air Malta and how it used the MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform, as well as other technologies, such as Salesforce CRM, to gain a competitive edge.
