The Ricston team flies high!

Posted on: September 28, 2016

When you work in Malta – there are certain benefits; we at Ricston get to enjoy them to their fullest! 🙂 My name is Jos – International Business and Languages student from the Netherlands, I’m doing my internship with Ricston in beautiful sunny Malta. I would like to tell you about our recent summer event that we all enjoyed so much!

Everyone left the office around 4pm Thursday 15th of September and headed down to Armier Bay, a small beach in the North of the island. The sun was shining and the sky was clear blue just like the sea; perfect weather for an afternoon at the beach. Everyone was happy and very excited to finish this Thursday together at the beach instead of working at the office.

When everyone arrived it was time to start with some watersports. There were plenty of activities to choose from – all of them included a speed-boat, splash and fun.

The higher the speed the more fun! 😀

Some started with the most relaxed activity – parasailing. A few people were a bit nervous in the beginning but once they were up, high in the sky, a breathtaking view overtook all the worries. This was amazing and just the start.

From one speedboat to the other – there was the crazy sofa, banana and flying triangle. We were pulled through waves, thrown-off the rides, bathed, flipped-over, flipped-sideways, flipped backwards!

Our motto: hold on and never fall off!

It was so much fun and required lots of teamwork to stay out of the water, which did not work out too well every time. Sometimes it was difficult to hold on, as you can see on some of the pictures. For some of us the ride was not daring enough and they bounced on it or tried to stand up while the boat was on full speed.

Last but not least – jetski rides!

Jetskiing might sound as an easy task, but not when your teammate is trying hard to fly you off it! Everybody enjoyed these rides, going as fast or as slow as they could up to Comino island. Some were very careful, others preferred to crash into the water.

After a few hours it was getting dark and a bit cooler, wet and freezing we came out of the water and took a seat on a terrace where some warming-up drinks and a BBQ dinner were served. It was great to share our experiences with each other over a glass of wine.

Want to join us on the next Summer event? Check our vacancies and apply today :)The next day we realised that it was a good workout as well (a lot of aching muscles).
It was a definitely a success – to be repeated sometime soon hopefully!
