Integration with Salesforce

Ricston's experience of MuleSoft Salesforce integration implementation in retail, media and broadcasting

The breadth of integration capabilities enabled by MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform and an API led connectivity approach can easily support whichever capacity Salesforce is acting in. Below are several use cases, where Ricston delivered solutions evolving around MuleSoft Salesforce integration to clients from different industries.

Integration of new sales channels for a company in the Broadcasting industry

A major UK broadcasting group was expanding into new markets and needed a rapid solution to integrate each market with minimal impact to their existing infrastructure. Its front-end applications were not connected with its CRM (Salesforce). Real-time scanning for any changes to Salesforce was not happening.

Ricston consultants analysed the requirement and proposed a solution using best practices: we utilised the Mule Salesforce connector, allowing the team to avoid the need to build custom code and focus instead on configuration rather than re-creating interfaces.
Ricston also helped overcome the limitations of Salesforce when the business required to receive push notifications. PushTopic is an extension of Salesforce that notifies listeners of any changes in records. Our PushTopic solution allowed the Mule flow to ‘listen’ to any changes being made to the Salesforce table.

Business processes automation for a company from the Consumer Goods industry

A leading consumer goods company based in the UK needed to integrate some of the business processes directly into their Salesforce CRM.

The company wanted to replace their system with a more efficient process using Salesforce chatter and integrate Ariba and IBM GERS with the CRM.

Ricston created a custom connector for the client and enabled systems integration with the MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform and created an elegant solution that helped the consumer to have a central and efficient way to approve expenses and requisitions.

The solution was developed in a very short time frame and was easily maintainable by the client’s internal team.

Replacing the ETL process with Mule for a Digital Media client

Our client wished to migrate from their legacy ETL (process for data extraction, transformation and loading) to Mule, to get a better understanding of the revenue, commissions and forecasted revenues for their online digital advertising. They had data distributed across multiple sources (Supply Side Platforms, opportunity data in Salesforce and proposals, orders and ad-units were in Google Double-Click) – Mule was used to migrating the data daily to a common warehouse, where it was aggregated and consumed by an analytics tool such as QlikView and QlikSense.

Through leveraging Mulesoft’s Salesforce connector and streaming result-set the team was able to complete the development work and produce an MVP within a week, which was massively successful for the client. Not only that, the resulting Mule based integration application significantly and consistently reduced the data extraction, transformation and load to less than 4 hours a day; furthermore in case of a failure – the application used to recover on its own and download all the missing data.
